Vijay Deo Jha Ranchi August 08, 2008
The election committee of the State BJP would finally meet on August 12 to recommend the names of the candidates for the next Parliamentary elections in the State. However, the central BJP has already made up its mind regarding some of the names but some more apolitical names have surfaced in the prospective list of the party candidates.
The list includes the senior IPS officer Amitabh Chaudhary, IG CID and president of Jharkhand Cricket Association, who has been vying for the party ticket from Jamshedpur Parliamentary constituency. The party sources said that the release of the first list of candidates was expect this month.
The party sources close to poll related exercise said that the committee in its meeting would discuss the viability of fielding Chaudhary from Jamshedpur constituency. Chaudhary is being backed by the two stalwarts of the party including the BJP national vice president Yaswant Sinha.
However Chaudhary could not be contacted for his immediate reaction but party sources hinted about the recent meeting of this senior cop with BJP national president Rajnath Singh as a step ahead in this direction
